Your Safety City Staff

            Jennifer Stuckey joined the Abilene Police Department 's Safety Education Unit in March of 1999.  She is a graduate of Abilene High School and Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX.  She also completed a Masters degree in Sports and Recreation Management in 1998 from HSU. Jennifer enjoys working with children and teaching them to be safe.

        State Trooper Sparky Dean has been with the Texas Department of Public Safety since 1977.  In 1994 Trooper Dean began working at Safety City, just one of his many job responsibilities. Trooper Dean wants to remind you why it is important to wear you bicycle helmet when driving your bicycle:  1) A bruise to the brain does not heal like a bruise on your arm.  2) Your brain is what makes you unique.  Wearing a bicycle helmet is important to Maintain Your Brain!  

        Lt. Randy Doan has been with the Abilene Fire Department since 1984.  I started out in the fire suppression and promoted to Lt. after 4 1/2 years on the dept.  I moved to fire prevention in 1990 and was there until I recently became a Public Education Officer.  I have my law enforcement certification.  I am married to my wife, Rhonda for almost 37 years.  We have two grown children, RAchelle Hartness and Ryan Doan.  We have 4 granddaughters.  Lt. Doan wants you to: "Always remember to be as safe as possible and never take chances that will lead to injury."        

    Fire Fighter John Brunett was born and raised in South Florida.  After high school he served six years in the United States Air Force.  John joined the Abilene Fire Department in 1995 and had spent eight years on the Hazardous Materials Response Team before transferring to the Public Education Office in February 2007,  He is married and has two children.
