K9 Unit

The K-9 Unit was formed in 1996. There is a Sergeant and four handlers. Officers volunteer for this program and must go through a selection process. Once selected extensive training is done to insure a positive bond between the Handler and the K-9. All K-9's are cross trained in handler protection, criminal apprehension, tracking, article search and narcotics.
